How do CEREC same-day dental bridges work?

At Northborough Family Dental, we're excited to offer CEREC same-day technology, so you no longer have to wait weeks for a dental crown or bridge.

Understanding Dental Bridges

A dental bridge uses two crowns as anchors on either side of one or more prosthetic teeth in between. The bridge is made of high-quality porcelain, custom-shaded to blend with your smile. By filling the gap left by a missing tooth, a bridge also helps keep neighboring teeth from shifting out of position.

How Does CEREC Technology Work?

Instead of waiting weeks for a dental lab to complete your restoration, CEREC technology lets our dentists provide durable, natural-looking restorations, like a bridge, in a single visit. We use 3D imaging to capture a digital model of your teeth, which our dentists use to design your new restoration.

They then send their specifications directly to our in-house milling machine, which fabricates your bridge from high-quality porcelain while you wait. Our dentists will then permanently place the bridge and make any necessary adjustments to ensure your bite functions properly. Because the scan replaces traditional impressions, the process is also more comfortable, and you can leave with a finished restoration in one appointment.
